You gotta be kidding me? You don’t once talk of the HIPS leading the swing!
Point the the knob of the bat at the big toe?
The elbow needs to work up to match the plane of the pitch. You’re saying hands inside the ball but, you’re actually excercising the mechanics of the linear swing. The barrell of the bat is below the hands at contact to execute a rotational swing.
A batter wants as best they can, to drag the the knob on a level plane in the bat lag phase.

dude, this coach doesnt know anything
“NEVER throw your hands out at the ball”
what if a right hander is trying to push an outside pitch to leftfield hmm?
dumb old man

Alex why would you try and pull an outside pitch…your suppose to let the ball get in deep and then throw your hands at the ball youll hit it up the middle or rightfield….you must not know alot of about hitting

I KNOW, thats exactly what im saying, the coach said, i quote, “we never ever…ever want to throw our hands out towards the baseball”
what im saying is you SHOULD throw your hands at certain cercumstances, such as an outside pitch to push it to rightfield

Can’t believe this guy would post these horrible hitting video’s. I like to hear and see what other coaches are teaching but this goes against all elite level hitters.

never throw your hands!!! you keep the rotational swing , but you adjust your contact point. Learn the mechanics before you post uninformed comments.

thats the right way to hit

many high class hitting coaches tell those learning under them to throw their hands out to to push an outside pitch (usually high and outside) to right field, its not true you “never” want to do that, its true that you get more power on pulling a pitch but if you try to pull an outside pitch like that you’ll hit it at the end of the bat more than likely back to the pitcher

This is the most stupid way to hit a ball, I’d like to see this technic in a real game recorded on video… if this guy’s mechanics work, why he didn’t became a famous and successfuly player?

Have you ever hit a ball 480 ft away from home plate with a wood bat? I don’t think so… And believe me, that’s not the right way… just to let you know, i’ve done that many times. good luck ;)

Les Norman is the best hitting instructor i’ve ever met. He operates out of Lee’s Summit, MO. He worked w/ a guy who was havin trouble w/ outside pitches. He asked the lefty “Where do you wanna hit this outside pitch?” The kid automatically pointed to left field. “Wrong” said Les, “Where do you wanna hit this outside pitch?” Now the kid didn’t kno what the hell to say, and assumed the “deer in the headlight’” look.

So Les walked up to the outside corner of the plate and stood on it. “Right here” he said “Hit the outside pitch right here.” Then he asked “Would you be unhappy if you hit a high and outside pitch over the fence in right field?” Of course the lefty said that he’d be just giddy w/ excitement if he did that. Les said “Hit the outside pitch when it comes to the plate, and hit it hard. Wherever it goes, well, whatever.”

Sorry for the long ass story yall, but it’s the only way to get my point across. That lefty was me guys. Once i changed MY APPROACH on the outside pitch, a started to rake. I hurt my arm later that season (for the third time in my very brief career) and watched my four D-I offers disappear. But guys, hitting is so dependent on the mental side of the ball. Pay attention to that and just have fun! It’s over before you know it. Good luck fellas

I would suggest the author of this video check out “rotational hitting” or look up Manny Ramiez swing mechanics on youtube. There are several slo mo shots of MLB hitters, none of them do what this guy suggests. This swing may work, but no MLB hitters use these mechanics. Slo mo video does not lie.
